I will be registering for the Academy in a few months... well... half a year from now. My grades are decent... besides SPANISH!!! I'll be in the civil air patrol in a few weeks, and I'm taking the ACT and SAT. Roughly 10% of applicants, get accepted, so I'm nervous. Does anyone have tips on how to improve my chances of being accepted?

I would say just to make sure you have at least a 3.0 GPA and make sure you are in some extra-curricular activities. That and you should make sure you'll be able to pass the fitness test that you have to take.

Would the Civil Air Patrol help me? I believe that if I'm in the CAP and I go into the Air Force, I will have an automatic rank increase... I'm not sure what it is... I think I start out at E-2...

I think if you can get an Air Force officer to sponsor you, it helps. NOt sure, but I know my dad worked on something very similar with the Navy Academy.

If I don't get accepted to the air force academy, I will apply at the army academy or the navy academy...
